Dexter was a two sport athlete, soccer and volleyball. He played as an outside hitter and setter at Bolingbrook High School (IL) and was a captain both junior and senior year. He went onto play soccer at Joliet Junior College and William Penn University from 2006-2010.

On his off season Dexter played Mens BB volleyball league in the Adult Iowa Volleyball Region. 

Dexter graduated with a degree in Secondary Education, and currently teaches Spanish at Sidney High School.

Upon completion of his collegiate playing career, Dexter became a soccer coach at Fairlawn High School for 5 years.

Assisted one year and took over the program for four years.

2012-11-6 (first sectional finals appearance in history of program - received a resolution of commendation from Shelby county board of education)

2015- 7-8-2

    ⁃    2010-2011: William Penn University JV/Varsity Volleyball student coach 

    ⁃    2010-2011: 15R/16R SWING VBC (Iowa)

    ⁃    2016: JV coach at Fairlawn High School 

    ⁃    2018: 8th grade coach for Sidney MS, 17-4 in GWOC. 

    ⁃    2019: 8th grade coach Sidney MS, 19-2, MVL League Champion 

    ⁃    2020: 8th grade coach for Sidney MS, 7-9

    ⁃    2021: 8th grade coach for Sidney MS, 13-4

    ⁃    2022: Varsity coach for Sidney HS, 12-12, Valley Division Champion, District 9 Division 1 Coach of the year. 

    ⁃    2023: Varsity coach for Sidney HS, 14-11, Valley Division Champion, District 9 Division 1 Coach of the year. 

    ⁃    2024: Varsity coach for Sidney HS, 13-11, Valley Division Champion

    ⁃    He has coached the past 14 years with the Bullets; age groups 13R,15R, 16R, assisted 12U, & 10U . 

    ⁃    He is married to Kelly Tobie and they have three girls Emma, Aria, Mila and son Liam.
